Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on the 20th of August 1974 in Aviano Italy). American actress. Famous for her naive and delightful characters. Adams was born to an U.S. Army officer in Italy and was raised in Castle Rock Colorado. At the beginning of 1990, Adams began performing and dancing professionally at Boulder's Dinner Theatre as well as the Country Dinner Playhouse. She then moved to Minnesota where she was scouted for Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentary film that explored beauty contests. Following her debut on screen as a ditzy but good-natured contestant she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She was the wife of the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and her mother to Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began when she signed an MGM contract in the late 1940s. She was discovered by actress and model Norma shearer. Through the years that followed her appearances in many famous films, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960), and Living It Up by Martin and Lewis (a 1954 film).
