April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July. She started piano and guitar lessons at age seven. The passion for making music was ignited. April's first song was Different. She wrote it at the age of 12. The year she turned 14 was when she devoted a great deal of time composing lyrics and practising her music. Then she began to take excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY and LA. April started to incorporate different topics that were relevant to the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure impairments and even suicide among teenagers. Lockhart is a fashion and lifestyle blogger with a growing fan base. She works with popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership in addition to being a life expert. She was born without her hand on her left side and it's one aspect of who she is, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability through her Instagram page, but she doesn't make it the focus of the account. What message does it convey? The message? We can all be multifaceted and our identities and physical selves do not reflect all they appear. I do not want this to determine me. I do not want to become a person who is a disability-related influencer where that's all I talk about since there are my other aspects Lockhart states in video form from her house in Nashville. And it doesn't affect my daily life. I conduct everything normally and I've found the best way for me to adapt the things. It's an integral element of my life and it's imperative to discuss the subject. Lockhart is a great example to accept oneself in all aspects, is on a long path to reach this. But she has admitted to going through a series of phases in her body and sometimes being unsure about wearing certain types of clothing which showed off her arms. She now wears whatever she wants and posts pictures of herself in these outfits on social media, she is proud of herself. It's a journey is the most important thing that I'm not sure that you ever arrive with self-love, she claims. This is a process, and I'm sure that you never reach your destination. People you spend time with that truly understand you, and can see into your heart, are the ones who remind you what is important.
