Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I was a gruelling 12 hours sanding floors, and tearing down wallpaper with one child strapped on my back, and others crawling in the playpen. Ha! We were getting close to being done, yet we were a long distance to go. It would take an enormous amount of work and a love of shopping. My sons, my husband and I looked for treasures hidden at estate sales to ensure that my spending was under control. The routine we had for the week was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through garage sales buying a mixture of old and new pieces as well as spending weekends painting and sanding the driveway. The furniture was like this... and that's the place I discovered my love for restoring. The issue was not whether our house had already been furnished. There was a place at the local markets that I could sell my pieces. Then, my collection got to the point that the space I had available was no longer adequate. At home, I began hosting open houses where more than 1000 people could come in and purchase any product they wanted on the first floor within a single weekend. Growing Days is the result from this. Not only was my business expanding, but so was our family of four. I was trying to find that perfect balance of having to start a new business while also being a mommy. Growing Days just fit. It was in 2013 when my sweet daughter Nora came along our 4th kiddo. The direction my company was heading was excellent, however I was forced to take some time off. I opted to take a little breaks from my old furniture and remain at home with the kids. The time was right. After a couple of months, my phone started to start to. The people who called me were asking for help with their interior decorating and home remodeling. Most of these people were the ones who had strolled through my home during the furniture open houses! Once I had a few months I began to take on customers at my pace. In no time, I was managing multiple accounts, as well as a house renovations company. It is likely that I'd have laughed had somebody had informed me that my venture was going to be part of a forthcoming tv program that airs on the DIY Network. As I reflect at it, it has made me smile.
